Boat Motor Engine Flush System
Protecting your Boat’s engine
One undeniable truth about maintaining the integrity of a boat engine is the flushing out process. This is essential for all seagoing vessels. Damaging salt and minerals enter the water circulation systems of ocean-bound boats. This causes corrosive residues to build up on the inside of the blockheads, exhaust components, water pump, heat ex changers, and virtually all parts that they come in contact with. The buildup can become so bad that it can block the dissipation of heat by not allowing water to efficiently circulate. Engine overheat can cause fires and engine failure which at sea can come with greater risk. Therefore, it is vital to flush out your engine and out-drive thoroughly after every use.
The Easiest and Most thorough Flushing System
The only patented flushing system that does not require boat motor flushing muffs, extensive engine adaptations, or engine access is the Easy Flow System. It provides a reliable, secure seal at the quick connect water inlet that can be accessed at a convenient location on your boat. This boat flushing system does not need a shut-off valve that requires you to access the engine or the need to screw on and off hoses or flushing equipment. The Easy Flow Valve provides a leakproof inlet preventing air from entering the system. Boat muffs can slip out of position allowing air to enter the out-drive inlet making it difficult for water to prime up to the water pump which can cause impeller breakdown and, ultimately, your engine to overheat. It does require the engine to be running during the flushing process which enables you to inspect the performance of your boat’s engine and circulation system while running. Flushing with the engine running, also, provides a more thorough flushing of the water pump’s impeller and housing by providing an instant, steady stream of pressurized water while the impeller is spinning.
Not all boat flush kits flush the out-drive and impeller with enough water flow because they flush with the engine not running or they block off the water supply to the out-drive during the boat flushing process. These methods require you to flush twice using flushing muffs to allow an adequate amount of water flow to flush the out-drive, the impeller, and the impeller housing. The Easy Flow system gives an instant supply of water to the out-drive and water pump flushing the entire system including the out-drive with maximum water flow. The system can also be used to flush your boat engine while in the water “ the engine should be in low idle if flushing in water”.
The Patented through hull quick connect valve and cap are made from 316 stainless steel and are reliable and decorative and make flushing out your boat safe and easy, and the decorative quick connect cap reliably seals it shut. A different design of the valve is also available for use as a water inlet to fill water-holding tanks or as an EZ-City water inlet for RV’S or tiny houses.
How the System Works
Simply quick connect a water hose to the Easy flow valve. With the engine not running, water passes from the valve through a tee then to the water pump where it stops. Taking the path of least resistance, the water vents back from the tee down and out the out-drive vents--thoroughly flushing the out-drive. The out-drive vents prevent over pressurization of water to the water pump. With the engine running and thermostat open, the water is pumped through the rest of the circulation system. The seal-proof water inlet and the instant flow of pressurized water to the water pump enables the pump to circulate the maximum amount of water through the circulation system. With the water turned on fully, the oversupply of pressurized water to the tee blocks off the passageway to the out-drive preventing air from sucking in through the intake vents. The oversupply of water is due to the difference between the lesser demand for water required by the water pump and the oversupply of water provided by a standard city water supply. This oversupply of water to the water pump is evident by more water than usual coming out of the exhaust while your flushing. After flushing, the quick connect cap quickly and securely seals the valve inlet so that the boats circulation system can function as usual.
- Review your boats’ specs before installation
(this system will not work with a pump in the out-drive) - engine must be heated so that the thermostat is open to flush the entire system
